In 2014, another camera and/or Digikam exif keyword change broke our autogalleries again and Martina decided to checkout ruby. Part of the reason for our gallery fun was also to learn about different things. Martina replaced a bash script and the C++ helper as well as the awk script with a clean ruby file. As usually this migration was not completely error free and special cases that were handled in the legacy code were lost and rediscovered.

In addition to these changes the wrapper bash scripts were improved and the generation was sped up even though an additional image dimension is now being generated. Instead of hours a rerun can be handled in seconds or minutes.
