For the last three years the fact that Lake Eyre had water was luring us there. We never were able to find the time for the kind of trip we wanted to do. This year Lake Eyre has had more water then in the last 30 years and possible in the next 10 years. Since we did not have the time to visit Lake Eyre by car this year either, we simple booked a tour. The tour was not too well organised. But all the people were great company and we were so happy to finally see Lake Eyre that all in all it was a great experience. And Martina got to fly a plane. As a side note: By coincidence, Martina and I had our 14 year anniversary on the day we were wading through the waters of Lake Eyre. The other guys from the tour group spoiled us with cake and sparkling wine. We were busy before and after our trip and have been to Austria as well, so we had little time for this update. The pictures are partially under-exposed (we left the previous night’s sunset settings) and the windows of the plane were dirty. That and the fact that we are passionate, but also pathetic photographers makes for disappointing pictures. The connection to the Austrian server is especially slow, so be patient. Markus had a little play with Google Maps as well as geo-tagging which can be seen in the interactive map. The slowness of the server means that it takes a few seconds for the pictures to load. Here is the interactive map with the pictures. And here is the normal gallery .
