Martina’s new Job

Things are happening. They always do. Markus would like it all to stop. But as always no one is asking him. Though that does not keep him from volunteering his opinionated opinion

Martina has been working at Attain since Aug 2007 and most of the time she was working off-site at Tourism Australia. She has been working at different projects with either one of the, back then, two teams. Now there is only one team and its team-leader- let’s call him H1 – is partially responsible for the fact that there is only one team. He is incompetent in any aspect of his role. Not only is he technically far below average, he also has quite a lot of character flaws that make him a bad lead. Both can be measured by objective indicators and cannot be disputed. Of course, since his boss (H2) seems to have some evil agenda, H1 is not only keeping his role, but the significance of his role gets increased as well. Martina was discriminated by H1 in more than one meaning of the term and had some sleepless nights when she dreaded the next day at work.

At Attain IT things are not happening. It is “quiet”. Martina got an offer for a contractor job at the NSW Department of Education and Training (DET) with other guys she already worked with and whose work style she likes. It should have been a very obvious choice. But then DET changed policies and then they changed them again and … Mid August DET was able to make up their minds and Martina put in her resignation. On the 31st of August she started to work at DET.

She is still in the initial phase of doubt about the decision. But that usually takes a couple of weeks and she is way more relaxed now. But except for headaches she is actually happy. Even though she has 10hour days and Markus usually suffers when that happens.
