{"id":175,"date":"2014-10-21T21:20:17","date_gmt":"2014-10-21T10:20:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mnm.at\/markus\/?p=175"},"modified":"2014-10-22T19:02:35","modified_gmt":"2014-10-22T08:02:35","slug":"google-cardboard-fun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mnm.at\/markus\/2014\/10\/21\/google-cardboard-fun\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Cardboard Fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After reading about it a few times I decided that I am too lazy to build one and we bought a ~10$ version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/cardboard\">Google Cardboard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It took about a month to arrive and was quickly unpacked and the app downloaded.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"thumbnail\" href=\"http:\/\/mnm.at\/markus\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2014\/10\/IMG_20141021_174248.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-puzfpiWA\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mnm.at\/markus\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2014\/10\/IMG_20141021_174248.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_20141021_174248\" width=\"2448\" height=\"3264\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-180\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"thumbnail\" href=\"http:\/\/mnm.at\/markus\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2014\/10\/IMG_20141021_174758.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-puzfpiWA\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mnm.at\/markus\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2014\/10\/IMG_20141021_174758.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_20141021_174758\" width=\"2448\" height=\"3264\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-177\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After playing with the Google Cardboard for about an hour our eyes hurt and we are slightly happier than before.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"thumbnail\" href=\"http:\/\/mnm.at\/markus\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2014\/10\/OI000007.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-puzfpiWA\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mnm.at\/markus\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2014\/10\/OI000007.jpg\" alt=\"OI000007\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1536\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-176\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is such a neat idea and simple idea (<a href=\"http:\/\/%20http:\/\/xkcd.com\/941\/\">a different approach<\/a>). And it works very well with the Nexus 5.<\/p>\n<p>After a while we took off the part that holds the lenses and moved it a bit further (1.5 cm) away from the screen to get the picture sharp. Could be the wrong lenses, bad eyes, etc.<\/p>\n<p>We checked out my Hallstatt and other spheres, I flew to Vienna in Google Earth and back to Sydney, Martina checked out her parents home. Connected Bluetooth headset, mouse and keyboard (lacking a controller) and checked out some more and generally enjoyed it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It felt it took ages to finally arrive, but we played around with it till our eyes hurt and the phone got warm to the touch.
